Jeremy Beck

President, Comprehensive Wealth Planner

I was born and raised in Colden, New York, population 3,300. With my father working the line at General Motors and my mother working as an accountant, they helped to instill in me the core values of hard work, honesty, and integrity.

I learned early in life the value of hard work and that nothing comes for free. Two weeks after graduating from high school, I joined the U.S. Army Reserves and spent the first summer of my adult life in basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. I earned my degree at the University at Buffalo by working 60 hours a week while attending school full-time. My hard work paid off when I was awarded an internship with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. This experience led to a full-time position with VectorVest Inc., an investment company with roots in Williamsville, New York.

After four years with VectorVest, I was promoted to vice president and relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, with my wife, Heather. During my six years with the firm, I taught money management and risk mitigating strategies to affluent investors and spoke at more than 250 investment seminars across the U.S. This valuable experience brought me home to become a registered financial advisor with A.G. Edwards, a premier money management firm and a legacy firm of Wells Fargo Advisors. 

From 2002 to 2007, I built my practice as a financial advisor with A.G. Edwards in Williamsville, New York.  I developed my customer base by assisting high-net-worth investors navigate through a tumultuous decade in the fixed income and equity markets. In 2007, A.G. Edwards was purchased by Wachovia Securities, which in turn was purchased by Wells Fargo in 2008. I started my independent financial advisory practice, the Beck Financial Group, offering products and services through Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, in 2009. 

After spending  a total of 15 years with A.G. Edwards, Wachovia and Wells Fargo Advisors, it was time to take our practice to the next level.  The team of Jeremy Beck, Gwendolyn Bork, Trish Del Prince and Brooke Tanners (formerly Beck Financial Group) have merged with David Burgio, Mary Lokken, Joseph Fecio and Kristine Zanners (Legacy Custom Wealth Strategies) to form the new Custom Wealth Strategies, LLC.  Both teams decided that the powerful combination of National Financial Services, LLC (a Fidelity Investments Company) as the custodian for our client's assets, coupled with Commonwealth Financial Network® (the nation's largest privately held independent B/D-RIA) was the ideal fit for our clients.

As an advisor, my investment process is extremely simple: I work extremely hard for my clients' success, and I do this with honesty and integrity. That may sound simple, but it’s something many advisors seem to have forgotten.  By working hard each and every day, Custom Wealth Strategies now manages more than $200 million in client assets, a responsibility not taken lightly.

When not at the office, I enjoy time with Heather, my beautiful wife of 16 years. We are blessed with three wonderful boys: Gavin, Noah, and Sawyer.

As Custom Wealth Strategies Director of Operations, Trish’s primary objectives are to ensure each of our clients receive exemplary service and attention, while managing all administrative and office management tasks and offering support to President, Jeremy Beck. She joined Custom Wealth Strategies (formerly Beck Financial Group) in 2012, with 18+ years in client retention and relationship building.  She brings an attention to detail and a passion for protecting each and every client relationship.

When not at work, Trish enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her daughter Liviana.

I was born and raised in Orchard Park, NY (Go Bills!).  And in my early 20’s when I started having children, I moved into the Village of Hamburg, a mere 5 minutes down the road, where I still currently reside and enjoy raising my family very much.                             

I started working for Custom Wealth Strategies (formerly Beck Financial Group) during the summer of 2014 and was brand new to the business.  I was a newly single mom to my two daughters and son, Riley, (7) Cameron, (8) and Eric, (9) and what started out as a part time administrative assistant role, turned into a full-time career with a team I’m now proud to call my extended family.  At the time, I owned a personal training business and was able to schedule my work around my busy life.  But, I no longer felt the security of a second income to fall back on if my business was slow, and no longer had the time to devote to owning a business and giving my clients the attention, they deserved.  Finding my way to “Beck Financial Group” literally changed my entire life.

Aside from being a mom and a full-time business owner and trainer, most of my career has been centered around customer service.  I was an assistant manager at a spa, an online account manager at a local bank, a branch manager at a staffing agency.  With each of these roles, I started out as a receptionist, or a part time employee, eventually landing an assistant or management role in a short time frame.  I slowly started to realize how vital customer service is in every organization, and how much I enjoyed making people’s lives easier, and that through hard work, and my friendly and welcoming demeanor that I would be led to a path I would be happy to call a career.  I have always been the kind of friend, co-worker or person, that people said, “I feel like we’ve already met” or “you are so easy to talk to” and I truly feel that my personable attitude, and attentiveness to detail is why I have reached the kind of success I have.  Every job search had one thing in common: customer service.  What I thought meant I lacked actual skills, was the exact opposite.  Customer service, and all it encompasses, IS my skill.  As the Client Services Manager of our practice I am the first face you see when you walk in, the last face you see when you leave, and I am the voice you can count on hearing every time you call, setting the tone that YOU are our most valued asset. 

Now, enough about my work life, you’ll see me there enough!

When I am home, my life revolves around spending time with my three wild and beautiful children, my fiancé Randy and soon to be step-son Taylor and going to as many Buffalo sports games and country music concerts as possible.  Eric, my 9-year-old and only son, is the baby who made me a mom.  When people told me there is no bond like a little boy and his mom, I had no clue what I was in for!  This little man was going to be my new best friend.  Shortly after Eric was born, a nurse found a tiny hole on each side of his neck.  And after some tests over the next day and a half, I was told my son had a condition called BOR (Branchio-Oto-Renal) Syndrome, which is a dominant genetic disorder effecting the kidneys, ears and neck, but he didn’t inherit it from his father or myself.  Through genetic testing, we learned he is one of the very rare cases in which 10% of children with the disorder have developed it out of nowhere, a simple gene mutation, and the only child to have ever been born with it in the Buffalo area.  But, my little boy is a fighter, and at 9 years old the only issue we have faced so far has been chronic ear infections, so we keep our fingers crossed!  He is full of life, calls himself a “math god”, and he keeps everyone around him laughing.  Cameron, my 8-year-old daughter is the epitome of “the perfect child”.  She is smart, loving, compassionate, helpful, respectful, and although gave me a run for the money as a baby, turned out so wonderful!  Although, she does have quite a stubborn streak which I can confidently say was passed down from me.  She is also the only child of my three who has any athletic ability.  She is on her second year of travel soccer for the Hamburg Monarchs, and loves every minute of it.  Riley, my youngest and 7-year-old, is the most independent of my children.  She is confident and quirky, and marches to the beat of her own drum. She’s fiercely loyal to what she believes in and is a lover of ALL animals, especially cats, but picking up a worm, or miraculously catching a bird out of thin air, or touching an ant is not beneath her (even if it grosses out her mother). 

When my children are at their dad’s house, my fiancé Randy and I try to attend every Buffalo sports game we can and spend a lot of time on the road watching his 12-year-old son play travel hockey and baseball.  He is a Buffalo Bills season ticket holder of 12 years, and I try to attend every game that does not conflict with my kids.  But, when the Sabres play, you can find us at every Monday and Tuesday night game.  In fact, in March of 2018, we planned a trip to Nashville, TN centered around the Sabres playing the Predators that weekend and as much country music as possible.  Turns out, that was his cover, because he proposed to me in Nashville 2 nights before the game, and it turned into an engagement celebration with a massive Sabres win!
